The Cake & Bake Show in Association with Argos is the UK’s only
dedicated baking show and arrives at ExCeL London on 7-9 October and
EventCity Manchester on 10-13 November. Online entries are flooding in
for one of the key highlights, the prestigious Official Show Cake and
Bake Competition, where keen bakers from around the UK compete for a
much-coveted winning rosette awarded for Best in Show, then Gold, Silver
and Bronze within each category, along with a host of fabulous baking
related prizes from Bosch and Kenwood, supplied by Argos.
The
theme this year for the Main Competition and Cupcake Competition is
Myths, Legends and Fairy Tales and with the deadline for entry on 19
September, amateur and professional bakers alike are invited to submit
details of their creations, which can be inspired by anything from Harry
Potter to Game of Thrones, encompassing historical tales, folklore
fantasy, elves, fairies, giants witches and magic.
There are four categories to enter this year:
1. Main Competition, supported by Food Network (a show-stopping decorative exhibit)
2. Cupcake Competition (decorative and tasting)
3. Birthday Cake Competition, supported by Kids Kitchen (decorative and tasting)
4. Bread Competition (decorative)
Judging
the competitions will be top patissier and Cake & Bake Show
Ambassador, Eric Lanlard, along with Great British Bake Off’s Paul
Jagger, cupcake queen Charlotte White, cake designer Rosie Cake Diva,
plus Leanne Cooper, publisher of Cake Decoration and Sugarcraft
Magazine.
Eric Lanlard, Master Patissier says:
‘I'm
looking forward to seeing what the nation of great British cake makers
and bakers are going to produce this year! Each year the entries get
better and better and this, alongside the Great British Bake Off
inspiring us all again, means it’s likely to be the best year ever.’
