PIZZERIA MOZZA SINGAPORE (MATTYB RECOMMENDS)

Our adventure overseas continues now with the second week of our holiday were we ventured over to the vibrant and beautiful city of Singapore. We came armed with our guide book and when we didn't have any luck finding any food in the Little India area of the city we decided to venture to the glorious Marina Bay Sands and it's shopping area where you can find Pizzeria Mozza. Described as having "pizza crusts to die for!" and with our love of pizza we just knew we had to go and visit them to find out for ourselves.

CHEAT'S CHEESY GARLIC AND HERB DOUGH KNOTS

I think most people who have ever stepped through the doors of a Pizza Express will of tried their dough balls at least once in their life but I don't think many people would consider trying to make them at home. That can seem like quite a lot of faff but this is were my cheat's version comes in. By using ready made pizza dough you can have these herby, cheesy, garlic knots on the table in under 1 hour but don't worry; the guilt of cheating will disappear once you try your first one. Trust me, they are proper lush!

GUSTO LIVERPOOL (MATTYB RECOMMENDS)

Gusto in Liverpool has been around for a few years now so this isn't the first time I've walked through their doors and I'm sure many scousers could say the same. It's in such a handy location for people heading off to the arena or for those you have taken a leisurely stroll around the docks for the day. I've never had a bad meal in Gusto but  the food has been better on some occasions then it has been on others. As part of a large booking, we traveled down to the waterfront one Sunday afternoon to see this visit has going to be one of those better trips or if we were going to leave still wanting more.

FLAT IRON SQUARE LONDON (MATTYB RECOMMENDS)

This is a recommendation that's a bit outside the norm now as its not so much a restaurant that I'm writing about but more a foodie venue. We strolled past the Flat Iron Square on Union Street in the Southwalk area of London last weekend and it was packed full of people drinking and generally having a good time. Intrigued as to what was going on we gave it a quick google and found out that as well as hosting weekly flea markets, many small vendors sell their foodie wares here as well. Looking for somewhere to lunch the next day, we decided to stroll over and see what was on offer.

CRUST LIVERPOOL (MATTYB RECOMMENDS)

Pizza can often get a bit of bad reputation in the foodie world, whether that's because they have now become associated with dodgy takeaways you'd only dream of going too at 3am in the morning after a night out on the ale or because of the uninspired versions that get churned out at chain restaurants up and down the country. It can be really hard to find the real McCoy but Crust Liverpool hopes to change that perception by "pushing boundaries" with the Italian classic. Quite a bold statement I thought so when I feeling peckish one lunchtime and was passing by it seemed like a good idea to try to see if the goods matched up to the claims!

TAS PIDE LONDON (MATTYB RECOMMENDS)

I tell you what, I do love a mezze style dinner. When I was younger we would call it a "picnic tea". We'd place little bits of nibbly food around the table and just help ourselves to all the little treats on offer. When we walked past Tas Pide during our trip to London's Southwark area we were intrigued and when we checked the menu out and saw all the tasty sounding Turkish treats we knew we had to give them a try. We booked a table and off we trotted!

LIVERPOOL PIZZA SLICE (MATTYB RECOMMENDS)

When I get in late from work I don't need persuading to go for the easy option and get in a takeaway. Liverpool Pizza Slice situated in the Aigburth area of the city has just opened and begun to deliver so we decided to stray away from the big pizza giants and see what this local independent had to offer instead. So yes, this is a review of a takeaway. Don't worry, I haven't gone mad. This is a food blog designed for getting good food out there so let me say this from the off, Liverpool Pizza Slice delivered me one of the finest pizzas I've had not just in Liverpool but in the whole of the U.K. Let me tell you why:

SPEEDY SUB PIZZAS

Hey, we're all very busy people now-a-days and we don't always have hours to spend in the kitchen making lunches for families and you might not always have left over chili in your fridge to make my leftover chili pizza's. This is where my speedy sub pizzas come in! All you need to make these yummy little treats from scratch are basic store cupboard/fridge items and a couple of sub rolls and in less than half an hour you can have four little pizza's perfect for mum, dad and the two kids (or one very hungry baker!).

LEFTOVER SPAG BOL PIZZAS

Remember those little frozen bread pizzas you can get that your mum used to give to you when you were little for dinner when she couldn't be bothered cooking. Boy they were delicious in a dirty kind of way weren't they. I loved them so when my eyes stumbled across a nice loaf we had bought and some left over spag bol from the previous night there was only one thing that crossed my mind: lets recreate these little guilty pleasures with fabulous fresh ingredients and mighty fine leftovers and see if you can lift them to the next level.

MATTY'S RED HOT MEAT FEAST PIZZA

When you come in on a Saturday after a hard week in work there is only one thing you need and that is to stuff yourself with a big fattening greasy takeaway that you clearly know is bad for you but hey, you deserve it, you've worked hard. Don't waste your hard earned pennies on pizza shop prices though and get on my new pizza recipe for a cheesy, meaty, chili feast with delicious cheesy stuffed crust. Yes, you need to wait a bit for the dough to proof but it's well worth the wait when your shoving those slices in your mouth!

HOLY STROMBOLI

I'm always looking for different and exciting bakes and not just the sweet variety. Sometimes savoury bakes can be equally delicious. Ive been dabbling with homemade pizzas recently so when I came across the Stromboli it looked like something that would not only challenge me as a home baker but would also be amazing as part of a weekend picnic tea. A scrummy pizza dough lined with basil, mozzarella and cured meat all rolled up into a beautiful parcel that once sliced really does have the "wow factor".

QUICKIDY QUICK HONEY MUSTARD DIP

Last week I showed you how to make some quick pizza crust dips for dipping in your homemade pizza crusts. So simple to make and more tasty than the shop bought versions or those little tubs of sauce you get from takeaway pizza shops. There is one of these sauces I absolutely love though and that's Papa John's honey and mustard dipping sauce. It's incredible and always my first choice when we order in. Imagine my delight when I discovered this recipe for making your own version at home and let me tell you it is exactly the same. I couldn't believe it!

If your giving my homemade pizza a go tonight or even if your ordering in make yourself a big batch of this sauce today. It will take you ten minutes tops to make and my recipe below should leave you with enough left over to store in a sterilised jar in your fridge ready for next time, saving you time as well as the pennies!

QUICKIDY QUICK PIZZA CRUST DIPS

I cant wait to give my pizza stone another go again. It made truly one of the best pizzas I have ever had. I especially loved the crusts that I added to mine. Super crispy on the outside and super soft and delicious in the middle. Now I know pizza crust divide everyone out there. You either love them or hate them, I've never met anyone who is in between. But for all the haters out there I've got two scrummy pizza crust dips here for you that I promise that if you dip your crusts into these bad boys and still aren't a fan I shall raise my hands in defeat.

DOGS N DOUGH (MATTYB RECOMMENDS)

Yesterday we took another trip up to Manchester and after scouring the twittersphere for a new places to try we came across Dogs N Dough.

There is a trend for restaurants at the moment to have menus with few items on and Dogs N Dough do exactly that. As the name suggests, Hot Dogs and Pizza's are the order of the day. We booked our table and headed off to give it a whirl.
